A swap body trailer (a container transporter) belongs to the category of open body cargo trailers. The main purpose is the transportation of sea containers on public roads.
The basis of a swap body trailer construction is a cargo trailer chassis, which has from two to four axles. The frame is equipped with stabilizing and attachment mechanisms, which guarantee a strong fixation of shipping containers during transportation. Some models of swap body trailers have an adjustable frame, which allows altering its length in accordance with the size of a container (20, 40 and 45 feet).
